Welcome to another installment of Good mourning, it’s Monday! This weekly blog looks to cover various topics in the news, along with personal stories or encounters from the past week at home and work to help you through your first day back at work (unless you don’t work). Hopefully my seven followers like this and share this to make it eight. Enjoy…
Ah yes, the Monday observed because New Year’s Day was on a Sunday. If you’re lucky, you’re not working. If you’re not so lucky, you just served me a gingerbread latte at the hotel lobby Starbucks.
What’s that you ask? A hotel? Why yes, I am currently writing this in the home of a certain Coach Mike Ditka. I came out to Chicago with the lady for a wedding and the city does not disappoint. I actually got to watch the Pats from a Boston bar north of downtown, so that was cool.
We’ll be heading to Niagara Falls this afternoon to help break up the road trip. (Yes, we drove.) Then it’s back to reality by the end of the week.
This trip has made me realize that if you have vacation time from work, take it during the holidays and once in the summer. That is of course, if you have to work during the holidays like myself. Otherwise, enjoy the summer.
This edition of GMIM is off the cuff, since I told the lady I’m getting coffee and then coming back up to the room. So I’ll be sure to write some more about the vacation either the end of the week or next Monday. Until then, stay tuned and enjoy the start of 2017.
