Welcome to another installment of Good Mourning, it’s Monday! This weekly blog looks to cover various topics in the news, along with personal stories or encounters from the past week at home and work to help you through your first day back at work (unless you don’t work). Hopefully my seven followers like this and share this to make it eight. Enjoy…
Traffic: Train was an hour delayed, so yeah
Zach arrival time: Not even close to being on time
Monday Mourning Metaphor
Today feels like Monday
I used to mock people who would complain about the train, both subway and commuter rail. Sure, it’s 2018, but no matter what technological advances we have experience, the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority will forever suck. Air conditioning? No one needs that in the summer. What about heating in the winter? Nah, overrated. Dusting? Meh, the train isn’t that dirty. Sound mechanical parts and working trains? Nonsense.
Last night (well, every night for here months) I planned on hitting he gym early morning to get my day started right. Woke up this morning and decided I was too tired to go to the gym. “I’ll go after work,” I say to myself, knowing I’m essentially burning money every month to get fatter and fatter. Anywho, the lady offered to drop me off at the train, a kind offering as always.
I got the station on time, but the train(s) sure as shit didn’t. Three separate updates said it would be 15 minutes late, except it arrived an hour late. A full hour.
So here we are, very late to work and sweating a lot. It’s hot, I’m late, I’m hungry, and still thicc. We’re supposed to be halfway through the week, and it feels exactly like a Monday.
Song of the week
This banger came on SiriusXM on Monday on the way to work, and it was a great way to fool me into thinking it was going to be a smooth week.
