BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Taylor Scialdone (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) led all scorers with four goals while also adding two assists, as the Western New England women’s lacrosse team topped Wentworth Institute of Technology 17-7 in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Wednesday night at Sweeney Field.
With the win the Golden Bears wrap up the regular season with a 14-2 overall record and will be the number one seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament after finishing league play with an 8-0 record. The Leopards end their season at 4-8 (0-8), however, set a program record for wins. Continue reading
BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Jon Bota (Mahopac, N.Y.) led his team with five goals while adding three assists, as the Western New England University men’s lacrosse team defeated Wentworth Institute of Technology, 20-9 in Commonwealth Coast Conference play Wednesday afternoon at Sweeney Field.
With the win the Golden Bears improve to 11-5 overall and 7-1 in CCC play. Western New England will be the number two seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament and will receive a first-round bye. BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Jessica Houghton (Billerica, Mass.) registered six points, including the game-winning goal and became the first player in program history to register 100 career points, as the Wentworth Institute of Technology women’s lacrosse team defeated Massachusetts Maritime Academy 12-10 in overtime in a non-conference contest on Sweeney Field.
Wentworth snaps a three-game losing skid to stand at 4-8, giving the Black and Gold the most wins in their three-year program history. The Buccaneers are now 5-7. Continue reading
BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Samantha Mulhern (Worcester, Mass.) went 6-for-8 with three home runs, seven RBI, and a pair of stolen bases, as Western New England swept the Wentworth Institute of Technology softball team in a Commonwealth Coast Conference doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Carr Diamond. The Golden Bears took the first game 10-2 and captured the second contest 6-0.

OWINGS MILLS, Md. –The Wentworth Institute of Technology men’s volleyball team finished as the runner up in the ECAC Division III Championship, defeating Southern Vermont in three sets in the semifinals and falling to Stevenson 3-1 in the championship match Saturday afternoon at Owings Mills Gym. This marked the third straight season the Black & Gold have advanced to the championship and the defending champions were matched up with Stevenson in the finals for a second straight season.
