The Nighthawks held on to take the first game 15-13 and won 18-8 (five innings) in the nightcap.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Wentworth Institute of Technology softball team wrapped up its Florida campaign Thursday morning with a pair of losses to Wooster (9-0) and Kenyon (16-1).
In the first game against Wooster, freshman Maddy Chase (Pleasant Prairie, Wis.) pitched a perfect game for the Fighting Scots, striking out three.
FORT MYERS, Fla., – The Wentworth Institute of Technology softball team opened the 2015 season with a pair of losses at the Gene Cusic Classic. The Leopards lost to Swarthmore 10-1 in six innings in the first game, and then fell to Rockford by a 6-4 score in their second game of the day.
Against Swarthmore, the Garnet scored three times in the first inning to account for the only runs they would need. Swarthmore tallied a pair of runs in the second, a run in the fourth and fifth innings, and finally three runs in the sixth. Continue reading
